Helen Pace Olmstead, 87, of Roanoke Rapids, died Friday, November 11, 2011.

Helen was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late William Lundy Pace, Sr. and Lottie Belle Johnson Pace. She was also preceded by her husband, Francis Thomas Olmstead; her sister, Nella Pace; and her brother, William Lundy Pace, Jr.

She was an active member of Roanoke Baptist Church. She enjoyed making quilts and was an avid seamstress.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Robyn O. Wilhoit and her husband, Gordon, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Craig Olmstead and his wife, Cindy, of Denver, CO, and Ronnie White and his wife, Faye, of Roanoke Rapids; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Cameron and Hunter Wilhoit.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 14, at 11:00 a.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Rick Rogers officiating.
